In July 1935, Alonso Menéndez purchased the Particulares Factory, makers of the popular Particulares brand and the lesser-known Byron. Immediately after its acquisition, he created a new brand named Montecristo.Montecristo cigars are respected worldwide for their consistency and boldness. Now hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic, Montecristo cigars were originally made in Cuba, and we are proud to draw on this rich history.
